Chinese telecom equipment provider Huawei and UK-based Global Marine Systems, a provider of submarine cable installation and maintenance services, recently announced a plan to form a submarine cable joint venture. Tapping Huawei's advanced optical technologies and Global Marine Systems' expertise in submarine cable services, this joint venture will focus on the delivery of end-to-end submarine cable network solutions. Financial details of this deal, however, were not disclosed.
